REVEALED: Why Jude Okoye Did Not Attend Peter Okoye's Wedding

I just spoke with P-Square's publicity manager, Bayo Adetu, and he confirmed that Jude Okoye was not at Peter and Lola's wedding yesterday. Wow, surprised?.. His reason was that Jude and some members of P Square's band were stuck in Ghana after a Saturday night show but Peter and Paul made it back which is surprising that he didn't. Meanwhile it is reported that Jude Okoye was spotted in several places yesterday. We hope everything is alright within the family.

Chaos In Ikota, Lagos, As Trailer Crushes 4 Children (PHOTO)

There is serious crisis in Ikota area of Lagos as touts, or local boys, are having a clash with policemen.

Trouble started when a trailer crushed four pupils on their way to school.

At the moment police is shooting teargas. Protesters claim they will not leave until Fashola comes. According to them, if a pedestrian bridge was available, such accident would not have occurred.

ASUU Dissociates Self From ESUT Resumption

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has dissociated itself from the planned resumption of academic activities at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) on 18 November.
A statement from the chairman of ASUU-ESUT, Prof. Gab Agu, in Enugu on Sunday said the union’s attention was drawn to the announcement by authorities that students would resume academic activities on Monday.
“The academic staff of ESUT dissociates itself from the above announcement.
“While ASUU-ESUT mourns the death of Prof. Festus Iyayi, a former president of ASUU, it awaits the directive of the NEC on the ongoing strike,” it said.
Meanwhile, a condolence register has been opened for the late Iyayi at the ASUU secretariat at the Agbani campus of the school.
Agu described the death as a big loss to the union, the academia and the country in general.
The ASUU-ESUT boss prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss. [NAN]

Money Laundering: Banks Plan Nationwide Shutdown Over DSS Detention Of Officers

Indications emerged, weekend, that banks operating in the country may shut down operations nation wide in protest over the continued detention of key officers of about 18 banks by the Department of State Services over allegation of money laundering.
The arrest and detention of the officers was generating panic in banking quarters following over two weeks arrest and detention without charges brought against the concerned bankers.
