Checkout List Of Nigerian Politicians Who Betrayed PDP & Joined APC After Postponed Elections

After the elections were re-scheduled because of security issues, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost a lot of party members. Deputy governors and other lawmakers have been defecting from the PDP for different reasons.

INEC Result Sheet For Presidential Election In Bauchi Found In Anambra

Shock engulfed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff and other stakeholders, including stalwarts of political parties yesterday at the commission’s Anambra state headquarters, Awka, following the discovery of the INEC Result sheet Form EC8As forPresidential election meant for use in Bauchi state in the general elections.
The commission’s Head of Operation in the state, Elder Ata Ewa who confirmed the mixed up, however, stated that they have alerted the INEC headquarters in Abuja over the discovery.
INEC officials who were sorting out the sensitive electoral materials, distributing them to the various 21 local governments in the state were shocked in the early hours of yesterday when they discovered in one of the sealed packs that some Form EC 8A Results sheets for Presidential election in Buachi state were contained in the packs, also, containing some result sheets for election in the state.
The INEC staff there adopted careful checking of the various packs and discovered further that there were mixed up of different results sheets meant for the polls in different local government areas in the state.

APC Woman Leader In Lagos West Allegedly Caught With Election Materials

With few hours to go to the commencement of the first round of elections for federal office seekers in Nigeria, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, 2015 caught with thumb-printed ballot papers en-route and unknown destination.
According to photos which have surfaced online, Basirat Ojugbele, the APC Woman Leader in Lagos West was reportedly caught in an unnamed area of the state at about 12:15am in charge of a bus with registration number FKJ 450 XJ by security operatives.
When the bus was searched, a large amount of ballot papers already printed were discovered.

Police arrest Okorocha’s aide, 4 others for stockpiling arms

Imo State Police Command yesterday in Owerri, arrested Okechukwu Okorocha, the Senior Special Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Rochas Okorocha, for allegedly stockpiling arms and ammunition apparently for the purpose of disrupting election in the State. Four members of the Imo Security Network (ISN), a security contraption established by the Rochas Okorocha administration have also been arrested.
The suspects’ names were given as Kelechi Onuoha, Chigozie Uzowuru, Osita Obiako and Aka Linus.

#NigeriaDecides: Resist Temptation To Rig Election For Politicians – Jega, , NYSC DG Warn Corps Members

NYSC-INEC OfficialsMembers of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, who form the bulk of ad hoc staff recruited by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the general elections, have been warned to resist “any temptation” to manipulate the elections.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, and Director-General of the NYSC, Bri.-Gen. Johnson Olawunmi, gave the counsel Friday during a joint press conference in Abuja‎.
“Resist any temptation that may hinder Nigeria’s democracy and economic development”, Jega and Olawumi said jointly.

DG assures tight security for NYSC members working for INEC

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brigadier-General Johnson Olawumi has assured corps members working as Adhoc staff for the elections of adequate security as Nigerians troop out to vote today.
More than 168,000 corps members were participating in the exercise across the country. About 75,000 had opted out after it became clear that participation was voluntary.
